What makes 80-20 effective

[Exhibit Ib] Selected Excerpts From Supporters’ Responses:

(a) From: deepdiscount <ddiscount@yahoo.com>

I did my part and emailed RNC and georgewbush.com, thanking them for making my voting decision for Mr.Gore that easy.

This was clearly the type of email alert people would like to get from 80-20initiative.net.

S.B. Thank you for job well-done!

Your newsletter has the effect on me now. I'm a Republican and doubt that I'll vote Bush next week. As an Asian, we should unite together. Dr. Lee Wen-Ho was mistreated badly and the Democrat Movement has to take the blame on it. However I seriously doubt that an Republican Government will do this differently. Being an Asian American, we have to unite and send a message to OUR LEADER who needs our VOTE.

Thank you for sending me this newsletter.

Thanks for the updates. Our communities here in New Orleans and the surrounding areas have definitely taken the lead and read your message loud and clear. All those who were "die-hard" Republicans have now vowed to vote for Gore after seeing what the Bush campaigns are up to.

Although we still have a long way to go, we will definitely keep trying and working for the betterment of us Asians in this melting pot.

Keep up the good work and keep sending us information.
Sincerely, Raj Pannu

Dear Mr. Woo:

I have talked to many of my friends about the election. Most of them will support The 80-20's effort to vote for Gore although they may not contact or be contacted by The 80-20. Thanks for your update.

Thank you for making the effort. It is effort like yours that we are counting on to induce the bloc-vote that is necessary to convince both political parties to pay attention to our rightful concerns.

Dear Friends,

If you are US citizen, please make an effort to vote on 11/7. Attached is a new article of how Bush's party is racist, that his TV-ad calls Asian American "Yellow Daisy". After protesters called and faxed complains, they pull the ad, never apologized, but explained the reason of withdraw was to not hurt Bush's campaign". If you don't show your power at this important moment, the consequence is to swallow those unrighteous politicians' acts.

Share this news to your loved family and friends, encourage them to vote.

I am an independent voter. However, I have changed my mind & voted for the Democrat party since the Republican played dirty politics on Clinton. Al Gore deals with real issues.

Regards,
Quyen

(i) Subject: Your Daisy ad in New York Times, October 27, 2000

Your insensitive Daisy advertisement is an inflamatory piece of obnoxious racism:
http://www.nytimes.com/2000/10/27/politics/27DAIS.html

It is not enough that you withdrew the ad on10/28/200. You should apologize to the Chinese American communities!

We live in Indiana and you can be sure that we will take every opportunity to tell friends and family NOT to vote for Bush on November 7th.

Your list of RNC and other email addresses are very helpful.

We can send out our letters and emails to express our outrage directly to the right place.
