The convention convened at 9:00AM PT.
Organizational businesses:
1) Election of Convention Chair presided by Kathleen To
S. B. Woo requested a secret ballot for the ballots choosing between Joel Wong and Amy Wok. Such a motion is not debatable and was therefore granted.
The result of the vote: 11 voted for Amy Mok and 22 votes for Joel Wong.
Joel Wong was elected Convention Chair.
2) Election of Parliamentarian
Amy Mok moves to elect a Parliamentarian.
Victor Lee seconds the motion.
The motion was unanimously approved.
Steven Pei moves to elect S. B. Woo to be the Parliamentarian.
Jon Wu seconds the motion.
The motion was unanimously approved.
Motion:
1) Jon Wu moves that 80-20 Initiative shall endorse Senator Obama for President.
Amy Mok seconded.
Daniel Feng requested a secret ballot. The motion was granted.
The motion was approved (31ayes; 2 nays).
2) Adrian Ho moves that the Delegates shall authorize the Press Release Committee to finalize the Press release.
Lena Tam seconded.
S. B. Woo moves to close the debate.
Benjamin Wang seconds the motion.
The motion was approved (29ayes; 4 nays).
